At most 50,000 URLs and 50MB uncompressed per file; split larger ones and list them in a sitemap index (Google).
URLs must be absolute (https://…); Google crawls them exactly as written (Google).
Google ignores <priority> and <changefreq>; it uses <lastmod> only when it is consistently accurate. Identical lastmod on every URL is usually the build time (Google).
lastmod is W3C Datetime: 2026-09-24 or 2026-09-24T10:00:00+07:00; a time needs a time zone (sitemaps.org).
All URLs in a file belong on one host, and a sitemap not submitted in Search Console covers only URLs in its own folder (sitemaps.org, Google).
Each page’s hreflang must list itself and every other version, and they must point back to each other; codes are ISO 639-1 like th or th-TH — en-UK is wrong, en-GB is right (Google).
A sitemap index may not list another index. This tool checks one file at a time, so it cannot tell whether the files an index lists are indexes; open them to see (sitemaps.org).
Raw non-ASCII (e.g. Thai) URLs are only a note: the protocol’s example percent-encodes them, but it also cites the IRI standard, which allows Unicode.
